Merchant of Eden is a Canadian design studio + online shop devoted to offering more earth-gentle, and thoughtfully made alternatives for your wearing + living needs, including responsibly-made garments, and a curated collection of vintage and pre-loved pieces.

Our Merchant of Eden in-house label includes a collection of ethically-made romantic designs produced in small batches, and handmade one-of-a-kind pieces in varying fabrics. The garment-making process is centered around using more earth-gentle materials such as natural fibers, remnant fabrics, and upcycled garments and textiles. Inspiration for design and values are found through a love for romantic classic films, vintage & antiques, les beaux arts, the lives of the Saints, and European travels.

We also offer a collection of handpicked vintage and pre-loved pieces which are selected for their enduring styles, natural materials, or unique construction which we don’t see much of in clothing made today. As a timekeeper and discussion piece, a vintage garment can add a certain character and uniqueness to a contemporary outfit. It's also a wonderful way to create a more personal and sustainable collection to treasure for seasons to come.
